Mr. Smith is Of Counsel at the firm and has practiced as a registered patent attorney both in house and in private practice. His practice is focused on thoughtful preparation and prosecution of patent applications, and the management of international patent portfolios. He has experience in many technology fields, including organic and inorganic polymers, electronic materials, semiconductor devices, carbon nanotechnology, telecommunications systems, image and language processing software, and medical devices.

Prior to the practice of law, Paul worked as an engineer and as a technology transfer project manager in semiconductor fabrication and battery technology.
